Did Everyone Just Turn off their Brains

Ok we all know now what Harper's up to - as he said himself, with a fair degree of self satisfaction "I have cobbled together this party" from disparate elements and he will do the same for this country. Well now, that's a vision for the future. He is following the US playbook to the note - get everyone who is miffed and frustrated because their views have been left out of the political process (for good reason), "cobble them together", then bring them to power by emotionally attacking whatever DIRT they can find in their rivals and with a simplistic promise of "change". Then, promote the military by appealing to fear of all those lurking enemies and the love of democracy (are you kidding, in Afghanistan?!!, paying lip service while ignoring or reinforcing warlords, a deep oppression of women, unbearable poverty). Then ruin our reputation in the world, by promoting war, taking sides (cutting off the Palestinians) and hanging out with the US and create real rather than imagined enemies, then tell us we all have to "register" our iris or our fingerprint or something so they can catch the terrorists in our midst. Ratch up this climate of fear until everyone just stays home and never realizes that we have become the f... lunatics.
