He's Suckering Us

What is it with people, a complete s.o.b. is allegedly nice for 4 whole minutes and that's it, he's changed. Not on your life, he suckered the Liberals and he's suckering Canadians. Mr. H. never veers from his agenda and war is part of his agenda, right now it's keeping the troops in Afghanistan, then later he'll just lie about what they are doing there, nothing new there. Check out Paul Wells http://forums.macleans.ca/advansis/?mod=for&act=pos&eid=43 - he understands Mr. H.

You are letting your anti-conservative bigotry blind you to the reality of the situation. Harper is focused and determined to advance his agenda - that is the role of a Leader in a political environment. He has never, ever, hidden his support for the current mission in Afghanastan and has taken every legimate and open opportunity to achieve parliamentry support. He appointed a Liberal ex-deputy leader to provide guidance, briefed Mr Dion, offered to entertain ammendments and gracefully accepted them when presented. This is Leadership and governing. Are you implying that should the Liberals get elected they wouldn't advance their agenda? Politics is all about presenting your view, advocating your position and when the people put you in power, using the available resources to advance those objectives. You are just angry that your own objectives are not being catered to. That doesn't mean Conservatives are evil, crooked or bad - it means democracy is working - you don't always get things your way -

Ron you attribute motives to Harper that I don't think are there - he is motivated by his own agenda, which is to take us closer and closer to the US. No it is not partisanship that underlies my comments. I have the same anger for Manley whose agenda is openly 'integration with the US by stealth' and Ignatieff who might as well be an American, and Martin, who bumbled or snuck us into this war in the first place. In additon Harper did hide his support for the war, until after the election. If he had run on this war, he might never have been elected. My anger arises from having a war snuck up on us and waged in our name without ever having been given a chance to decide, and from the fear of losing what I hold dear - my country.
