How Is It Possible for the Media to Get Away with This?
Last night at 3:00 a.m. I couldn't sleep, so I got to watch Stephane Dion for half an hour. When I wanted to watch CBC Newsworld noon news today there was Harper for half an hour. Every time a media person mentions the Liberals, it is negative, negative, negative. If Harper wins the election it will be because the media was either bought or suffering longterm temporary insanity.
H.'s nasty people, his nasty nature, his complete fabrications (they have a good economic record!) all float by the media. Dion answered unscreened questions on any and all topics at UBC and not once was there disdain, smirky little smiles; instead there was rational considered thought on issues that matter very much to people and a vision for the future and hope for change for the better. Oh and no RCMP to keep people away from the candidate.

What is wrong with people, that they don't see it. How stupid does one have to be to think those involved in art and culture are a niche sector - really, really stupid. If the creative part of your brain is turned off, you get stupid, which is why Atom Negoyan is bloody brilliant and H. is not.

I'm beginning to think it's worse than that they're stupid. Even watching the USA election, Obama and McCain are even in polls. How could so many of their voters be so stupid? They've lived through some horrors and now, headed into economic horror. Yet half of their voters apparently think this is fine. How to explain that?
Somewhere, somehow, most of North America has divided. It is eerily like a country we're not supposed to reference. Germany. That's what it reminds me of. Rational people are apparently far less in number. I have no idea why. Except to believe that Canadians and Americans are universally united in one thing - massive stupidity and selfishness. We're watching our own destruction and powerless to stop it. It's really sad.

Why in the world would they have Stephane in front of grade 9s yesterday? If it was an announcement for private schools, I could understand. Or a backdrop to remind folks that grade 9s are 14 year-olds the Conservatives would like to lock up, I could understand. But all I hear from the MSM are questions of why Stephane was in front of grade 9s with less than 3 weeks to go.
Typical Liberal - Canadians who don't think like you are stupid. Don't blame the media - blame Dion. He is weak in every way.
I'll start to worry about all those "poor starving artists" the day after I can get looked at in an emergency room in under 3 hours. I can't get paid for pursuing a hobby, so why should they?
