Media Alert - Manley et al Were Not Elected This Time

Just so the media know, the following are not in the opposition or the government: Bob Rae, Ann Mclelland, John Manley, Irwin Cotler, did I miss any? They are private citizens; for reasons, like they lost their ridings or they decided to go make money or they didn't want to spend a few years in opposition, or they haven't chosen a riding yet, they are not elected officials; so why is everyone quoting them? Did the media and the cons not notice that the Liberals voted for Dion, for Renewal - the key word being 'new'.

Update: oops, Cotler is still in the Liberal caucus.

An old white guy who served in the corrupt regimes of both Martin and Chretien counts as new to the Liberals? I'm afraid to ask what you count as old..

Oh no! Are some of them involved in the Safety and Security and Prosperity meetings?

Actually, Irwin Cotler is the Liberal MP for Mount Royal.

He gave a very good interview to As it Happens last week explaining why he supports the measures under contention - measures he had initially opposed when the Liberal government proposed them.

Yeah, and I have no idea why we wouldn't, as Liberals, want to listen to experienced, thoughtful people like Anne McLellan and Bob Rae on this issue.

I hear you, but Cotler is an MP, Mount Royal. Someone I respect actually.

To your point, yes, the Con's are playing a silly game.

Irwin Cotler - MP for Mount Royal - is a member of the opposition. You're right on the others, though.
