Bob Rae and Robin Sears
I watched Robin Sears on Politics today and thought "who is this guy?" So I looked him up and was shocked to see he is a leftie and worked with Rae. So now I'm wondering about Bob Rae and the Liberals. First Rae comes out in the media against Dion on the anti-terrorism issue - I think he should have waited to get elected before speaking out and why would he backstab the leader of the party he just joined - then Sears trashes Dion on the issue. So if Sears and Rae were NDP, how come they are so out of sync with the NDP position on one of the fundamental leftist principles, respect for human rights? What am I missing here?

You're not missing anything - they are. They're gracing Harper's bully-boy tactics with a response, and as I learned the hard way, you don't do that - it just doesn't work.
Rae is using Sears and Tarek Fatah (another former staffer of his) as his foils to attack Dion, Kennedy and Ignatieff. Welcome to the NDP my fellow Liberals.
Rae is an embarassment. It is one thing to have a different opinion but he is not an MP with a vote and he does not have to go on TV to declare his views and oppose Stephane Dion.
Rae is only looking out for himself. He doesn't belong in the Liberal Party. I hear he won't speak to Gerard Kennedy because he feels Kennedy should have supported him in the Leadership convention. Rae's ego knows no bounds.
