Something's Afoot - But What?

I guess it's fitting that Buckler, the information control freak, leaves with no information about why she's leaving. So far I 've read that: she had been ill; that she had family priorities. Between the lines there are suggestions that she and Giorno, the 'new Brodie' were maybe not compatible, or that she and Brodie were a team so to speak, so they are leaving together. There are some suggestions that Harper is shifting his MO (I sure hope it doesn't mean we are going to see more of him).

But the most compelling reason I read in a comment on a blog is that the lobbying rules in the Accountability Act are set to kick in and that people are leaving now so they can become lobbyists right away - makes sense, change Canadian lobbying so it's more like those guys to the south - another way of trying to institute american style politics in Canada (could well have Mr. H.'s blessing).

Several of Fortier's people are leaving too - are they going to become lobbyists as well, or is Fortier just setting up to be Mr. H's Quebec man, now Bernier is gone?

Where is Don Newman when you need him - he'd have some interesting speculation - maybe Wells or Kady will enlighten?
