I watched the
World According to Bush last night and I am consumed with my inability to understand why the citizens of the US are unable to see what's going on or to care about it. I remember watching the German chancellor ask Bush on his visit to Europe "where is your evidence for an invasion of Iraq?" and thinking, finally one person capable of identifying the naked emporer. I was reassured that somehow Europeans still had eyes to see, ears to hear and brains capable of rational conclusions, but then they allowed Wofowitz to become the head of World Bank!! But the worst thing for me about the documentary last night was that Richard Pearl lives in the south of France! Now that may not mean anything to anyone else but to me it means that nowhere, even the wonderful south of France is safe from being polluted by these people. Which brings me to Bush's Trojan Horse, our illustrious leader - we need to wake up and realize that we are not safe from these people either. Canada's next election will decide if Canadians can be suckered by the propoganda, fear-mongering, selective use of so-called facts and utter disdain for its citizens that has already begun in our beloved country.
