Canada's Clones

First we got Bush-lite with Mr. H., then Prentice goes around warning of looming doom a la Colin Powell, now we have our very own Rumsfeld, our very own war-mongering shoot from the hip tough guy. But like Rumsfeld he is already putting people off and he will wear thin very quickly - not a good voice for the mission.

Nooooo!!

Yesterday he had a plane, today they say he's capitulating! I believe in Dion all the way but I'm getting more and more angry at what's going on. Doesn't he realize he has an obligation to rid us of Mr. H. as quickly as possible. Mr. H. is ruining this country - he has to go now. The Liberals' job is to get rid of him, if they don't, they are going to lose their base.

Prentice, Our Very Own Colin Powell

So there's Prentice, just like Colin Powell, using up his good name (his supposed good name) doing his boss's dirty work, spreading misinformation about the Liberals' spending, the cons equivalent of 'weapons of mass destruction'. I thought Susan Bonner did quite a good job on Politics pointing out some of the gaping holes in his talking points. Silly man - thought he had more brains than to play the fool - guess not.

More on Senior Liberals

CTV.ca has a reference to 'senior liberals' being 'such as Ralph Goodale, Michael Ignatieff and Bob Rae'. So what then is a 'senior liberal'? Someone who holds a senior position? - well that leaves out Rae who isn't even in the caucus. Someone who has been around for a long time? - no that only describes Goodale. Someone who is old? - that might work, they must all be older than Dion - that must be it 'senior' means older than Dion.

Let's hear from some 'junior' liberals - we need some youth, hutzpah, courage, and self-confidence. You have to give Dion an A- for all of those, especially with all the knives in his back.

What is With These 'Senior Liberals'

Duffy with his self-satisfied little gloat is always referring to the 'senior liberals' who want to hold back Dion. If they are that senior, they must be the same guys Chretien used to call nervous nellies. We all know what Chretien did with them - he ignored them. I sure wish they'd come out of the closet so that we can be sure not to elect them next time.

He's Suckering Us

What is it with people, a complete s.o.b. is allegedly nice for 4 whole minutes and that's it, he's changed. Not on your life, he suckered the Liberals and he's suckering Canadians. Mr. H. never veers from his agenda and war is part of his agenda, right now it's keeping the troops in Afghanistan, then later he'll just lie about what they are doing there, nothing new there. Check out Paul Wells http://forums.macleans.ca/advansis/?mod=for&act=pos&eid=43 - he understands Mr. H.

What's With CTV?

The warmongering at CTV sure seems to be ramping up, so what's their agenda? I remember something Chretien recently said in an interview. He said it wasn't easy to make a decision to stay out of Iraq and he gave an example that business people were calling him worried about their relationship with the US. Is that it, are we being brainwashed to love war to help the business community. Let us remember what happened when we catered to the US on Softwood, now there are no jobs in forestry in Canada - that dolt Emerson was suckered. And now they're trying to do it again - talk us into sacrificing what we stand for and then they'll shaft us anyway. First Emerson and now Manley. Time to learn our lesson.

Robert Fowler not Manley

A better panel leader on Afghanistan would have been Robert Fowler, clearly someone who can address the real issue behind the problems in Afghanistan. After my previous post on him, he was on Politics last week and laid out perhaps the key issue - 45 million Pashtuns in Pakistan and Afghanistan, 15 million of whom are in Afghanistan. They were the rulers of Afghanistan for hundreds of years and now they are completely excluded from the Aghan government. The Taliban are a Pashtun movement. They are what the West is calling the counterinsurgency. The odds of beating them?

A Strange Thing to Say

What did Rob Russo think he was saying last week on Politics when he explained the shortness of the Dion-Harper meeting. He said Harper took the "measure of the man" and said "I can beat this guy" and then immediately put his election plans into action. What macho nonsense. Why is not possible that he realized he was going to get nowhere manipulating Dion into his position on Afghanistan, and that as a result he would lose face with his conservative buddies to the south, fail his boss-man Bush and look like a fool at NATO. So rather than fail to deliver on Afghanistan, he switched to plan B, force an election before it became patently clear he couldn't deliver to his buds.
