Probation, Report Cards - then nothing - our country is being sold down the river and Ignatieff postures and then blinks - Canadian politics are now like BC's - no options. And where are Canadians? asleep at the switch!

I disagree. I don't mind the stance he took.. so long as he follows thru if (when) Harper refuses to meet those conditions.

Iggy is dithering...
With all due respect CTWF, I haven't seen a comment on a blogsite yet where you like anything that Ignatieff says or does.
So when the Conservatives ignore Iggy's rants and refuse to give in to the Libs assinine EI plan, how many Lib MPs do you think will have a mysterious illness in time for Fridays vote?
Iggy is a dithering paper tiger.
Again, the Libs will capitulate. It is probably for the best anyway, considering they offer Canadians NO better ideas or alternative.
I'd still like to know what the heck Iggy proposes to do different. We hear a lot of bluster from the Liberals about how bad the Tories are and how they need to be replaced, but have heard very little substantive from Ignatieff about how he would do things differently--aside from this change to EI that I havent really been sold on.
Frankly, after watching the spectacle of the Liberals voting for the Conservative drug war through C-15 I'm not really sure if there is a Liberal Party anymore. Maybe the best thing for Canada is a few more Conservative minority governments so we can replace Iggy with a truly progressive Liberal.

I am no Ignatieff supporter but I don't think this is dithering. He tried to set it up fairly simply - Harper has to make a few changes, answer a few questions and then they can move forward. In the meantime, if Harper won't play ball Iggy can try to blame an election on Harper. It is not dithering because it is obviously meant to be a strategy. Whether it will pay off for the Liberals I have no idea.
