The Taliban are Back!

So Canadians are dying, our money is being spent in vast amounts, all to help the Afghanistan people have a decent life. In this concept of a decent life we include education and freedom for women. We are sold this as Canadians so that we will support the war, but even now the few gains made by women in the government are being eroded and women who don't cover themselves from head to toe are routinely harasssed and attacked. Now Karzai is going to bring the Taliban into the government. If this happens, are we still going to pretend we are over there helping establish our idea of a decent way of life?

Mr. H. Out to Get Women, the Environment, Arts and Culture

Well, I've been silent for a while now, trying to make sense of what is going on. Harper does not represent Canadians. He is attacking our fundamental values. So why aren't Canadians getting it? I can't figure it out. I also can't figure out what's wrong with the Liberals. I don't think Dion is the problem, so why are some of the MPs so disloyal - they can't stand to gain anything by it. Maybe Dion is too nice, maybe there are rightwingers in the party who want the pro American faction to rule (about which I've posted before). And what is with the media, they exult on every Dion mistep like rabid dogs.

The reason I'm not silent today is the surplus. We had to listen to those Harper idiots go on and on about incompetent management resulting in a surplus and what are they saying now!!?? Then they put it all on the debt and try to pretend that us working stiffs are going to get a tax break, oh, like the last one that was a really a tax hike?!

But for me the real whopper (and I am shocked that it isn't what the rabid dogs are going after): Canadians are awash in government money but Women's programs and Environmental programs and Arts and Culture programs are getting a second round of cuts. Please Canadians, take note, don't fall for the b.s. that these cuts are about saving money - these are about ideology. They are about making our government as misogynist, mean-spirited, nasty-minded, oil obsessed and tyrannical as Mr. H. himself.

Media Minds and Mr. H. - Hello!!!

More domestic laundry on international trips - will Mr. H. ever have anything to say abroad besides blaming the Liberals about Kyoto, and now complaining about the Senates's role in our constitution? And the MSM! - hello, asleep at the wheel, muzzled . . ? This person is embarassing us around the world and CTV does an interview with some guy comparing Mr. H. to Pearson!! And Politics has no comment.

Mr. H. has nothing but contempt for Canada and Canadians - wake up people.

Democracy Denied - Parliament Stays Closed

So Mr. H. doesn't want to face Her majesty's Loyal Opposition just yet? Running scared a bit because he can't figure out what to do next? Ever since Dion and the other Liberal leadership realized that Mr. H. would just steal and repackage every idea they came up with, they've gone brilliantly silent on policy matters. They did give him some advice on the SPP meeting at Montebello, but they knew he wouldn't do anything to upset his puppet master from the south.

The real problem is that he's run out of mini-ideas that keep his base happy and his secret 'integration by stealth' with the US can only proceed if he stays in power long enough for it to be put in place. If he comes out with his real policy positions, he's finished. What to do? What to do?
